Attention boaters! This house is located in the Mother Vineyard Subdivision on Roanoke Island, just outside of the Town of Manteo. Owner/Agent personally built this house with the original structure completed in 1979 and the addition added in 2005. The original house has a large 16’ x 24’ Great Room with a brick fireplace that originally was designed as wood burning one with a Heatilator. It has been converted to gas logs but could easily be returned to wood burning. That same fireplace has a separate flue that is accessible in the screen room just below on the ground floor which could accommodate a wood burning stove to extend the use for that area. There is a 6’ x 24’ roof covered porch on the front of the house perfect for sunset watching! A small laundry room is also on the main living floor with easy access from the new and original section of the house. The newer addition overall is 16’ x 54’ connected to the original house with an 8’ x’20’ office at roof top level. The new section is made up of an enlargement of the master bedroom, a bar and a 16’ x 19’ sunroom. The sunroom has vaulted ceilings, tons of glass facing east, another gas log fireplace and hardwood floors. Access is available by an interior stairwell from the screen room below or exterior stairs and/or a handicap ramp leading to the eastern deck and rear door. There are 3 bedrooms total with one huge master suite. The master includes a gas fireplace, vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors in the bedroom area and ceramic tile in the master bath. That bath includes an 85 gallon American Standard Whirlpool with a heater that runs continuously when the jets are on. There is also a 42” x 42” Jacuzzi Brand Stem Shower and a 200 gallon Hawkeye Eclipse Model Hot Tub. The Hot Tub is accessible from inside the Master Bath area or through exterior doors at the top of stairs on the north side of the house. There is a 12’ x 24’ boathouse alongside the canal boat docks which provides tons of storage area with easy access to your boat stuff. This building was completed just before the rules were changed requiring a 30’ setback from the water’s edge so, it’s grandfathered. There is a portable generator connection to the original house which enables power to all of that section except for 220amp circuits. The entire house has corrugated metal storm shutters fitted for all windows and regular entry doors stored in the boathouse. The 2 car garage also has a ½ bath which is convenient to everyone enjoying the large adjoining screen room which is perfect for gatherings without the need of holding them in the house. The garage has a stainless steel 2 sink with sides. There is one hose bib connected to the original water well used for irrigation. The house water supply is provided by the County Water system. There is a large, enclosed outside shower and dressing area on the ground level just outside of the screen room. Enjoy the huge concrete patio perfect for sunning or hide from the sun on the concrete patio under the rear sun deck.
